Technical Editing Services
For knitting, crochet, and Tunisian crochet designers
For knitting, crochet, and Tunisian crochet designers
As a technical editor, I check designers' patterns for grammatical errors, mathematical errors, clarity of writing, and adherence to the designer's stylistic standards.
My goal is to help you, as a designer, remove errors from your patterns but retain your unique pattern-writing voice.
I want to encourage you in your process, cheer your successes, and help you publish the best pattern you possibly can!
I edit knitting, crochet, and Tunisian crochet patterns.
I will edit just about anything, including socks, brioche, garments, and more.
If you send a pattern for a quote and I feel it is beyond my skill or I do not have an opening in my schedule to take on your project, I will happily recommend colleagues who are qualified to edit your pattern.
I have a BS in 6-12th grade English education; part of my training in that course of study was how to teach others to write clearly and concisely.
I also worked during college as an editor in the school's writing lab, which gave me practice in helping others refine their writing.
I have been designing patterns for over 10 years. My designs focus on explorative techniques and skill-teaching, so I am very comfortable with a wide variety of skills and techniques, but also know what goes into self-publishing a pattern.
I understand what it is to be an independent pattern writer because I am one!
Steps 3-4 are repeated as necessary until you are satisfied with the pattern.
Lastly, you have the option to send me the pattern for a free, final check once you have made all the necessary corrections.
If you have more questions or are ready to start the editing process, please get in touch!
I'm a friendly editor and am happy to work with both new and experienced designers.
