Ruth learned knitting basics and to crochet a chain stitch as a child. The rest of her fiber arts skills were learned by reading books, watching videos, and a “try and see what happens” philosophy of making. She designs patterns now with the same philosophy.
Patterns from Ruth Brasch Design are written by Ruth, professionally tech edited, then sent to volunteer pattern testers. This process helps to ensure that patterns are as clear and error-free as possible before publication.
Ruth lives in an orchard in South Central Pennsylvania with her husband, three kids, Golden Retriever “Frodo” and ever expanding flock of chickens.
